If a forty-year-old organism has a 60-year-old functiona age, he can easily return to his true age,” explains Radim Šlachta, a lifestyle expert who is one of the founders of the myAGE.health application, the author of the basic idea of ​​the project. Among other things, he describes the unique SA HRV method or his own experience with measuring the age of the organism.

Do you think that in a few years we will see the average life expectancy approaching one hundred? Sometimes I think it will happen. The question is whether we are talking about the survival of the current generation. But the studies on which we also base and study them speak of the normal survival of hundreds for the next generation.

For example, how many years can an individual’s aging be suspended due to the myAGE.health application? It basically depends on the state in which the person comes to our program. And logically, the worse a person is, the greater the potential for improving his or her functional age.

When a completely inactive person with a bad lifestyle enters myAGE.health, the progress can be expected to be really great. I think that such progression in these people could be in the range of ten to twenty years.

So when a man in his forties comes to us and measures the age of the organism at 60 years, which can easily happen, he can easily improve his functional age by those twenty years.

Why is myAGE.health actually being created when mySASY is already on the market? mySASY has always been developed with a fundamental focus on the target group of athletes. Throughout the development of mySASY, we struggled with the fact that we wanted to bring a lot of professional information from the sports environment. But it was also used by people who were not top athletes. So we thought about how to simplify it and at the same time leave there as much information as possible for top sport.

In addition, as an introductory author who has been working on this issue for several years, I always knew that something like myAGE.health would be great for the normal population. And in the direction of monitoring some global health.

So we still had this topic on the radar. In addition, health for the general population and the effort to take care of themselves have been addressed a lot lately. All this, even with a new investor who gives us big wings and supports us a lot, led to the creation of myAGE.health.

What is the difference between myAGE.health and mySASY? I assume the main target group. Yes it’s right. At myAGE.health we have a different target group and the whole change will be based on that. In principle, this will be a great simplification. We will not want to burden people with every detail. myAGE.health should be displayed more attractively for a normal target group. We will predominantly focus on age, then on the parameters in the rate of aging.

The approach will be diametrically different. At myAGE.health, we will focus on a detailed prescription of what one should do to really ensure reverse aging. One will see exactly how it is. In retrospect, it will be seen whether it helps him or not. Accordingly, the recommendations may change so that there is still positive progress.

And what progress have you made personally? I try to live a relatively healthy lifestyle, so there is no such room for improvement. On the other hand, I live a fairly intense working life, which sometimes brings a huge amount of stress. And this fundamentally affects my functional age. So it is able to move up and down for about ten years. So, this is the period in which I am currently working.

Stress plays a big role in the aging of our body, right? Definitely yes. Our functional age changes the most, which affects the state of our body. So if someone is totally inactive and is obese with a poor lifestyle, then this will be the most disruptive to their functional age. When someone has dramatic sleep problems again and all other attributes are quite right, their functional age will disrupt this.

Let’s simply describe the very process of functioning of myAGE.health. Is it enough for a person to apply and measure himself with a chest strap daily? We have to admit that the application is now being created. Nowadays, we are already presenting some prototypes and we can say quite accurately that a person needs certain hardware in the form of a belt, which very accurately measures the heart rate with an accuracy of a thousandth of a second. When the user makes the first five measurements, we describe his basic state. He will be required to provide some information about his current life and physical activity.

If he makes a move, he will write it to us in the given categories. If not, then at least he can imagine what he would like to do and choose the activities according to himself. We will prepare a tailor-made program for him, where he has a plan for every day. We set it in many degrees of freedom. So if he doesn’t want to fulfill the plan under individual days and only looks at the weekly parameters, then of course he can.

And what if he wanted to change his plan? So myAGE.health will meet him. One should at least adhere to the plan appropriately. If so, we will guarantee that his functional age will go in the right direction. If he does not follow this, then at least he will see what and how his age affects the body.

In the first phase, we will do it on the basis of healthy physical activity. It will not be about any bodybuilding or training on the Tour de France. We will recommend the activities that will be best for him. Of course, we will also present that sleep, nutrition and stress also play a role. We will not pay close attention to these areas in full detail – we will rather recommend applications that have worked for us.

Is it a lifetime application? Ideally, it really is. And as we know, life looks different and is colorful. When I go on a week off for a vacation or a weekly party, then I look at how it has affected my body and I can learn various lessons from it. Then I can start the plan again and work with it. We try to do it in such a way that one considers it a long-distance run. So if he misses a day or a week, the world doesn’t collapse. It will be a guide to his lifestyle.

It is based mainly on the scientific methodology of SA HRV. How would you simply describe it? The principle is complicated, but to put it as simply as possible, I will try to explain it, because I deal with this issue except for a few breaks around twenty years. We use SA HRV to monitor the difference in successive pulses, because it shows how well the organism is well controlled by the autonomic nervous system, which controls all events in the organism without human consciousness. It is a method that allows you to monitor the transmission of system activity from the heart. And the greater the variety of heartbeats, the better the control of the organism.

Is there any similar application in the Czech Republic or in the world? We look at it in a world format. Some applications, for example, deal with the method of heart rate variability, but the spectral analysis of heart rate variability, which is a special method for data processing, is dedicated only to us. It has its advantages. Previously, it also had disadvantages, for example in the form of measurement length. However, thanks to the fact that we have been doing this for years and we have hundreds of thousands of measurements, we were able to deal with this. We work with the most accurate methodology available.

In addition, the measurement itself does not take long. It is currently four minutes. Yes. We managed to eliminate the basic problem, because previously the measurement time was up to fifteen minutes. We are really at four minutes now.

Would it be possible to measure only with a smart watch in the future? We are working on it and discussing it a lot, whether we will now focus only on watches that allow ECG measurements or we will try to come up with some kind of algorithm for watches working on optical heart rate sensing. It is probably a big topic and we will pay a lot of attention to it.
